Casa del Habano Partagas Tops World Cuban Cigar Sales

Havana.- Casa del Habano Partagás, in the Cuban capital, has topped sales among 88 such establishments all over the world.

According to statistics, during the first three months of this year, the establishment reported over one million dollars in revenues and 505,933 dollars in profits.

Executives pointed out that figures show the economic efficiency of Havana’s Casa del Habano, one of the first to open in the 1990’s, and followed by dozens of other similar establishments in five continents.
Casa del Habano is a franchise owned by the international corporation Habanos S.A., which sells its products in over 100 countries.

>From the administrative viewpoint, the establishment is run by Tiendas Habana, which is attached to the shopping network Universo, owned by the tourist group Cubanacán S.A., one of Cuba’s major firms.

Casa del Habano specializes in selling Havana cigars and is a reference to Cuba’s tobacco industry and culture.

Casa del Habano Partagás is located in the building where the Partagás factory was founded in 1845. It is behind Havana’s Capitol and is visited by thousands of foreign tourists every month.
