Panel Discussion

The panel will feature Jorge Luis Maestre Mesa, Rayner Rodríguez Díaz and Raúl Díaz Rodríguez, microbiologists from Cuba’s Institute of Tropical Medicine Pedro Kourí (IPK) who are currently in residence at Harvard Medical School and the Harvard School of Public Health to advance research studies on dengue and tuberculosis. Sponsored by the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies as part of an ongoing scientific exchange program between the IPK and Harvard University, the visiting scientists will each present a brief summary of their specific research studies. The panel will be chaired by Harvard Medical School Professor and Co-Chair of DRCLAS’ Cuba Committee, Arachu Castro. Following the presentations, remarks will be made by Professors Paul Farmer, Michael Starnbach and Eric Rubin.
