Havana.- Cuba’s recording industry published the list of 72 nominees in 19 categories for the 8th edition of CUBADISCO’2004.

Among the nominees for the awards, to be granted in late May, are renowned artists and groups such as Chucho Valdes, Amaury Perez, Carlos Varela, Teresa Garca Caturla, Adalberto Alvarez, Frank Fernndez, Polito Ibaez, Ars Longa and Cubanitos 20-02, among others.

The recording houses with more nominations are EGREM (10), Unicornio (19), Bis Music (15), Ah Nam Music/Cuba Chevere (2), Oficina del Historiador (2), Producciones Colibr (2), Lusfrica (1), and Unicornio-Fundacion Autor (1).

The nominees in the Special Award category are the records “Esther Borja canta a 2, 3 y 4 voces”, “Lricos cubanos Volumen I Antologa de la zarzuela” and “Lricos cubanos Volumen II Romanzas y Canciones (EGREM)”, “Obras de compositores cubanos del siglo XX” (Unicornio-Fundacion Autor), and “Ahora s” (EGREM).

Renowned artists such as Diego El Cigala (Spain), Toni Norville’Band (Barbados), Teddy Josiah Kinlock (Bahamas), Michael Wolff (USA) and Sabrosura del Sonido (Japan) will perform at the CUBADISCO’2004 awarding ceremony.
