Los Van Van, one of Cuba’s most popular orchestras, will present their latest record, entitled “Chapeando”, in Peru.

The presentation is scheduled for February in Lima, where the band, founded more than three decades ago, will perform in the inauguration of the Salsoteca Boranda Latin Show.

Peruvians are looking forward to the release of the CD, which resulted from joint work between the recording company Unicornio and the house Abdala.

Experts quoted by the Peruvian media pointed out that Los Van Van’s popularity lies in the fact that their songs always convey a message to the public, since they deal with everyday issues.

The experts noted that the music written by band director Juan Formell includes pieces especially composed for movies.

In addition, his songs are performed by renowned singers and orchestras like Ruben Blades and El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, among others.
