This year the 6th edition of the Havana Course in Tropical and Travel Medicine will be held at The Tropical Institute Instituto de medicina Tropical “Pedro Kouri ” IPK in Havana, Cuba.

This course gives in only 20 hours a broad overview of the most common tropical diseases, public health strategies anno 2006 and preventive medicine for the traveller and his/her counseller(Travel Medicine).
The course is a collaboration of IPK and medical Services for the Tropics Maastricht( NL)

The profesors from IPK are word wide recognized because of their teaching skills based on scientific study and supervison of many Health Care projects all over the world where the Cuban Health workers are active.
In this , english spoken, course some inetrnational recognized speakers from other countries are invited in order to get an international discussion about the health topics HCTTM has official trainingcredits from Authority from Netherlands (KNMP) and Cuba both This course is totally 20 hours and Teaching   workshops bedside teaching in IPK and a visit and lecture about Public Health in an Old Havana health Center Additional laboratory Training ( parasitology) and home visiting with a family doctor is possible.
