Havana - The number of university students in Cuba is estimated to increase to 325,000 in the 2004-05 academic year, said the president of the Cuban Students Association.

Students studying in Cuban universities and colleges reached a record of 310,000 in 1986. The figure dropped to around 73,000 in 1990s and has risen again in recent years.

All schooling in Cuba, including higher education, is free of charge. In addition to developing education in the country, Cuba also helps many countries in personnel training. At present, nearly 14,000 foreign students study in Cuban universities under cooperation programmes.

Yo, if you lack the ability to use google and research a bit, don’t bother applying to that university. I can’t believe that people SERIOUSLY post on a thread in order to have someone forward them to admissions. LOL.

    To Whom This May Concern:

I am an American living/working in Cambodia, which is a very poor country in Southeast Asia.  The few available medical facility in the cities have doctors and nurses who were poorly trained, and demand a lot of money from their patients.  It is not uncommon here to hear stories of how doctors and nurse indirectly kill patients because of their mistreatment of patients ailments. I am encouraging students I meet here to study medicine abroad, but the wealthy Cambodians who study medicine abroad do not come back and work as humble medical doctors, they usually work in fancy administrative work for the high pay.  This is why, I want to help poor students gain opportunities to study abroad as they will come back to serve their poor rural communities.  Are there any scholarships available for Cambodian citizens?

    Thank you,
    Romdoul
