Havana.- The Cuban capital hosted the National Rock Festival this month, with the participation of some foreign bands as well.
The event, which was called Caiman Rock and was sponsored by the Hermanos Saíz Association, allowed learning about the development of that musical genre in Cuba.
The festival was a showcase of Cuban rock bands from all provinces, covering a wide range of styles, from soft to hard rock.
Among the foreign participants were Cruks en Karnak from Ecuador, Banda Bassotini from Italy, and Txapelpunk from the Basque Country, among others.
Cuba was represented by the groups Zeus, Eleven, Hipnosis, Agonizer, Extraño Corazon, Anima Mundi, Olimpo, Mephisto, Demencia, C-Men, and Rice and Beans.
Several institutions hosted the festival, which acknowledges the development of that musical genre on the largest Antillean Island.
