Havana.- Cuba’s Havana cigars have gained ground in the international market, after the opening of new tobacconist’s shops in major cities of the world.

Among the most recent actions is the opening of three Havana Cigar Houses in China, where there exists a great potential of consumers.
In addition, Cuban cigars dominate the European market, mainly in Spain and Holland, where there is great demand for the product, whose raw material is harvested in western Pinar del Ro province mainly.

Sales have increased since June 2003 in all 122 countries where Havana cigars are sold. In October alone, sales rose by 20 percent, compared to the same month in 2002.

Due to that situation, producers take special care of crops, in order to provide high-quality tobacco leaves to the cigar industry.
