An auction of five lots including humidors of Cuban Premium cigars and works of art collected as many as 533,000 Euros, which were assigned to the Cuban health system.

During a gala dinner at the closing of the Habano Festival on Friday, British moderator Simon Chase, from Hunter and Frankau Firm, pointed out “this is an excellent opportunity to help Cuba fight the blockade,” clearly alluding to Washington-imposed barriers against Havana.

The first lot, dedicated to H.Upmann brand, was acquired by the president of Hong Kongs Pacific Cigar Firm, Dag Holmboe, at 33,000 Euros.

The other, a pyramid-like humidor, donated by Swiss Michel Perrenoud, was sold at 70,000 Euros to the president of Belgrades Casa del Habano, Slavko Despot.

The third, a Vegas Robaina humidor, reached 55,000 Euros and went to the hands of Chinese Fred .C Kiang, while a Montecristo humidor and a portrait of late Cuban musician Compay Segundo was acquired by British Terence Conraw, at 105,000 Euros.

Cohiba brand, with three humidors and a sculpture alluding female Cuban cigar makers, was the most spectacular work, obtained by Spanish Javier Estander, of ALTADIS firm, at 270,000 Euros.
