With little fan fare and apparently even less marketing, the Global Cuba Fest will happen in Miami Beach from March 15 to the 17th.

The FUNDarte and Miami Light Project present the Global Cuba Fest in Miami Beach.

The Deauville Hotel Jazz Club will host some the best Cuban singers and songwriters currently based in Spain such as Yadam, Pavel Urkiza and for the first time in the United States, Julio Fowler. These three musicians will perform together to celebrate the best of the post-filin generation, and the new fusions of the Diaspora’s most innovative and poetic songwriters and interpreters. Tickets for the 8pm event are $25. Location

At the North Beach Band Shell on Saturday at 2pm, a free family interactive concert and workshop will be held featuring award winning Miami-based percussionist Hilario Bell. Location

Later that evening at 7pm at the same location, saxophonist and world-class chekeré player Yosvany Terry and his quintet will entertain with music with afro Cuban roots. Osmany Paredes, Yunior Terry and Pedrito Martinez will also perform. Miami-based Grammy Award winner Horacio “El Negro” Hernandez will then heat up the dance floor with his high-powered, sizzling contemporary Afro-Cuban percussion. Tickets are $20.

On Sunday, the Creole Choir of Cuba performs a vocal concert honoring the history of their Haitian descendents. This unique concert will be fun for the whole family and unite Miami’s Cuban and Haitian communities in a celebration and homage to shared cultural roots. Tickets for this event are $10.
