Havana | The Cuban capital hosted the 2nd Inter-American Conference on Pharmacy and Nutrition this month, with the participation of experts from ten countries.
The event, sponsored by the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences (MCPHS) and the University of Havana, brought together 140 delegates from Ecuador, Argentina, Morocco, Belgium, India, Italy, Colombia, France, the United States and Cuba.
The Inter-American meeting consisted of four workshops on education, natural products and alternative medicine, nutrition and health, and pharmaceutical care.
The meeting highlighted the work of foreign personalities that have contributed to strengthening cooperation relations between Cuban institutions and the Autonomous University of Yucatan, in Mexico, and the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences.
MCPHS Head Charles Monahan granted University of Havana Rector Juan Vela the highest decoration that the US College gives to outstanding personalities and institutions in the field of pharmacy and sciences.
