Cuban modern art at Barcardi museum in Havana

The Emilio Barcardi Museum, located in the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba and one of the oldest in the Caribbean Island, is hosting an exhibition by Cuban and French artists.

The museum is hosting the exhibition “When Abstraction Converges with Figuration”, sponsored by the French Association Convergence of Arts.

According to critics, the exhibition consists of more than 70 artworks from different artistic trends created by 60 French artists.

The Cuban artists whose works are on display are Wifredo Lam, Julia Valdes, Mario Trenard, Alberto Lescay, Mearson Daniel Zafra, Danilo Vinardell, Israel Tamayo, Carlos Rene Aguilera, Miguel A. Lobaina and Reinaldo Pagán.

The exhibition is an artistic approach to European art from the 1950s. 1960s and 1970s, a period that was prolific in trends and movements in the history of modern art.

it is time that yor museum showed the art of MEARSON DANIEL ZAFRA PEREZ who lives near Santiago de Cuba in the Artisitic Community of Verraco

He is an amazing artist who has shown abroad in France and Germany Canada
I live in Scotland and have several of his painting Just because he does not live in Havana does not mean that he is not an artist of importance I would like to invite him to UK but the Brtish Embassy is not helpful Please give him more publicity Cuba needs to show the world more of the amazing culture that you have all over Cuba Cuba has stood alone against the world and artists like Zafra continue to paint He is a wonderful representative for your country
