Havana.- Manuel Hernández, a renowned cartoonist and an outstanding exponent of Cuban visual arts, is exhibiting his work in the beach resort of Varadero, in western Matanzas province.
The exhibit, entitled “Desde mi tejar” (From My Roof), is being held at the Royal Sandals Hicacos hotel, which is an extension of the Varadero Gallery, attached to the Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets.
The exhibit includes paintings on canvas and cardboard, as well as 20 French-style tiles on which the artist set his imagination free to create an excellent work of art.
Countryside women, palm trees, horses, nature and Cuban motives are a recurrent presence in Manuel’s work, which is characterized by his creativeness and originality. That is the case of his well-known ceramic dishes, which have traveled the world.
Experts from the Varadero Gallery pointed out that the exhibit forms part of a project aimed at strengthening the ties between culture and tourism in Varadero.
