The Cuban rap group Cubanitos 20-02, one of the most popular hip-hop bands on the Island, is preparing a European tour.

Accompanied by four musicians (guitar, keyboards, drums and bass guitar), the three members of the group will perform in Belgium, France, Holland, Italy and Portugal.

The group is made up of Javier Durn (Doctor Webb), Jose Angel Sastre (MC White) and Haniel Gonzlez (DJ Flipper).

Gonzlez said that they will promote their CD “Soy Cubanito” (I’m Cuban), which they expect to be as successful as in Cuba.

According to experts, the group performs fusion music, so their repertoire includes reggae, Son, guaracha and guaguanco, among other musical rhythms.

Cuban rap is highly-acclaimed on international stages, especially after the success of the group Orishas, which won a Grammy Award for their CD “Emigrantes” (Emigrants).

“Soy Cubanito” is my favorite CD! I got an early version of it last year when I was in Cuba. When I went back to Cuba this year, it was still extremely popular. It has now been released in the U.S.
