The Cuban capital hosted the presentation of the latest video clips from the Caribbean Island, an audiovisual genre that has gained ground in the country over the past few years.

The new video clips are “Chapeando”, by Los Van Van Orchestra; “Bailemos”, by Carlos Cespedes and Traje Nuevo; “El Despechao”, by David Blanco, and “Recoge y Vete”, by Michael Blanco and Salsa Mayor.

The list of clips also includes “El dueño del Bache”, by Buena Fe; “Como Nacen las Hojas”, by Polito Ibañez, and “Haila Diferente”.

That way, 130 video clips have already been submitted to the traditional Lucas Awards, but the number of competitors is likely to increase, since the annual awarding ceremony will held two months from now.

Founded eight years ago, the Lucas Project has an archive of more than 600 works and publishes the “Lucas” newspaper during the annual festival of Cuban video clips.

During the first edition, held in 1998, the Lucas Awards were granted in nine categories. Another ten categories were added later with an eye to acknowledging the high quality of Cuban video clips.
