Cuba to Host World Baseball Championship

Havana.- Cuban sports facilities will host the 35th World Baseball Championship in October.

According to sources from the organizing committee, Cuba and Chinese Taipei will play the opening game at Havana’s Latinoamericano Stadium.
Both teams will play in Group A, which also includes Canada, Guam, Italy, South Korea, Nicaragua and Russia, which will compete in western Matanzas provinces.

Group B is made up of Brazil, China, France, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Panama and the United States, which will play at Holguín’s Calixto García Stadium and Santiago de Cuba’s Guillermon Moncada Stadium.

The Cuban team will play against Chinese Taipei, South Korea, Guam, Russia, Italy, Canada and Nicaragua, in that order, during the classificatory phase.
