Havana.- The city of Pinar del Río, the capital of the province of the same name, is implementing a new artistic project as a result of Cuba-Brazil cultural cooperation.
Thanks to the initiative, a new mural dedicated to the environment was painted in the aforementioned city.
The project is aimed at mixing techniques and creative styles from both countries, which have many historic and cultural points of contact.
The effort has also been promoted by German artists who since 1992, through the Fiebre de Color Muralist Association, have painted common ideas in both Cuba and Germany.
For the Brazilian painters Gustavo and Octavio Pandolfo, this is the first experience as muralists, since they are experts in graffiti, which they have painted in the United States, France, Australia, Greece, Chile, Argentina and Germany.
Dealing with pollution, desertification and environmental protection, the mural calls to preserve the environment, a vital issue for humankind’s survival.
