This place is going on
My boyfriend and I were looking for a brunch spot and we stumbled upon this upper west side spot. I’ve been back many many times since. AND, some of the best coffee I’ve had out. Great pick!

Cafe con Leche is a exceptional restaurant. The arroz con pollo is to die for, and the mofongo is too. I loved the paella. They threw a whole lobster in it. The WAIT is terrible tho. But please try it out. Each person has a different experience.

Great Food. Better than what I had in Havana (though they were having a beans crisis)... Try one of their vegetarian dishes.

Wonderful Latin brunch
I had to write in response to the negative review. For the past year at least, I’ve been going to Cafe Con Leche for brunch almost every weekend. The food is always great and the service is friendly and responsive. And the cafe con leche is wonderful too. The brunch is a real bargain at about $10 and I always leave the restaurant happy. I’m sorry the other writer had such a bad experience, but please don’t write this place off. It’s very popular for brunch and there is often a line for a table. Check it out and decide for yourself.

With so many dining options - why here?
I dined here on 4.15.04 - ordered shrimp in garlic sauce: The shrimp were TINY and overcooked, the garlic sauce very watery and oily, and as a grand finale, there was a lock of hair in my shrimp entree. When I alerted the waitress, she looked bored, but took the dish back into the kitchen. She returned with what looked like the same dish 2 minutes later, so I can only imagine that the cook just reached in and removed the hair. No apologies or offer to substitute my meal for something else.
