Barrio Cuba, the latest production of the famous Cuban filmmaker Humberto Solas exhibited at Havana Latin American Movie Festival, was considered a resounding success by audience and critics.

The film, expressing a permanent concern of its director about his country’s luck and based on the difficult situation lived in Cuba after the disintegration of the Soviet bloc, reflects the commitment of the director to his people and reality.

Barrio Cuba, a new Cuban gift, part of the most contemporary Latin American cinematography, guarantees tears and applause at the same time.

Humberto Solas, at his full artistic maturity, feels the film is his most personal work and the one he feels most proud of ethically and morally.
