Email received from Joe Garcia campaign:

With just 48 hours until the polls close, this is our final push, and we know we’re in the position to win this race.

But it is all going to come down to our final push.

We need your help to get out the vote:

1) First and foremost, plan to join us at our FINAL Canvass on Monday evening. Our entire campaign team will be joined by a crowd of volunteers and supporters that have come in from all over the country to help win what is being called the hottest House race in the country.

LAST CANVASS:
Location: 9849 East Fern Street
(2 blocks north of our Perrine headquarters | MAP)
Time: Monday, November 3rd, 5:00-7:00 pm

2) If you’re not available on Monday evening, you can come into our new call center and make calls anytime between now and when the polls close at 7:00 pm on Tuesday night.

CALL CENTER:
Location: 9849 East Fern Street
(2 blocks north of our Perrine headquarters | MAP)

3) We know a few of you aren’t in the area and may not be able to make it here. You’re not off the hook! We need to you call anyone you know here in South Florida and tell them to get to the polls on Tuesday. If you’d like to go further, we can provide you with more voter names for you to call. Just e-mail Kate Houghton and she will get you set up as soon as possible.

I am constantly humbled by the amazing things you have all done during this campaign and I thank you in advance for your work to put us over the top in the next 48 hours. I hope to see you Monday night and look forward to celebrating with you on Tuesday.

Best regards,

Joe

The Havana Journal supports Joe Garcia and strongly believes that he will best represent the interests of his constituents in Washington DC.

Good luck Joe, the nation is watching this one!

I just posted a screen capture from CNN above.

All three Democrats lost the Miami races to the Incumbents but they gave them a run for their money and I doubt these Republicans or any Republicans for that matter will have much influence in the 111th congress.

I don’t see how (or why) the Embargo will survive 2009.

Well i was hoping we would see a victory there but looks like it just wasn’t in the cards.
Hopefully this will go down as their last stand.
I think now is the time we start aggresively advancing the argument that the cuban power structure is secretly fearful of the changes an Obama administration would bring.

I’m very surprised that Raul Martinez did not win.  Frank Gonzalez ran against Lincoln two years ago and managed to get 41% of the vote, and Frank was virtually unknown in the community, had no campaign funds, and was a Libertarian to boot!  How in the world Martinez was only able to get a few more percentage points than Frank Gonzalez when he was a) very well known in Miami, b) had plenty of funds, c) had years of experience as mayor of Hialeah AND a good track record, and d) had the endorsement of the Miami Herald.  It defies all logic.

I have in my posession orignal documents (never seen before, from the late 50’s) which prove that the diaz balart family fought for the castro revolution as guerillas and provided external resources (outside of the sierra maestra) during the armed struggle against batista.

I will be happy to share this info for research purposes and to show once again the corruption an lies which are the everday practices of running the USA inc.

LOL, I really don’t see that much of a difference between Castro and Batista, one supported American big businesses and the other Spanish big businesses.  All the laws eliminated competition, of course.  Nevertheless, I’d like to see those documents, very interesting.
