He didn’t say it outright, but did dip his toe in those waters, according to this morning’s pool report.

Speaking to Miami-based Radio Mambi, a force in the exile community, McCain said Fidel Castro has made his “preferences known in the campaign and had some very unkind things to say about me.”

To laughter, McCain said: “My feelings are hurt.”

Joe Lieberman, also in the studio, added:“You know, there’s an old expression, ‘you can judge a man by the enemies he’s made.”

McCain also got in a plug for the Diaz-Balart brothers, the two Cuban-American GOP congressman who backed the Arizona senator early on in the primary and are now fighting for their political lives in the Miami area.

“So I hope that my friends in the Cuban community will not only vote for me but Mario and Lincoln Diaz-Balart need your support as well,” McCain said.  “I do not know two finer members of the United States Congress.”

Wow!

Can McCain run any worse of a campaign?

If he thinks he has to allocate time in his day just six days before the Election to be on Radio Marti “preaching to the choir” so to speak, he must be thinking that he might not even be able to carry the old hard line exiles who are 1000% Republican.

Either that or he has given up on his campaign (as I have been reading) and now just making pitches to voters to vote for Republicans in local races and this article above meshes with that feeling.

Still, doing it on Radio Marti is just a HUGE waste of time. I would say that 90% of their listeners would vote all Republican anyway.

So, maybe the Diaz-Balarts are in trouble. Tough for them though that John McCain is their “guy”.

Goodbye Senator McCain, you never had a chance. Your first bad decision was taking the endorsement of the three monkeys from South Florida. The Sarah Palin pick was a HUGE mistake and I said that as soon as I heard your announcement. You behavior at the debates was creepy. Do I need to go on?

Goodbye to hopefully one Diaz-Balart!

Signed,

A Republican from Massachusetts

I did laugh at the part where McCain said that he didn’t know two finer congressmen than the Balart Brothers.  Wow, this isn’t just stretching the truth—-he’s either lying, or he’s totally clueless.  But then, after seeing how he’s run his campaign, as well as his V.P. pick, I guess it just confirms that he really is out of touch with reality.

Agree.

He has made lots of bad decisions. This whole month he has been trying one issue after another almost changing his campaign message daily desperately trying to get anything to work.

He is not Presidential material and everyone can see that.

Next Tuesday will be a huge embarrassment for Republicans because of George Bush AND John McCain.

I can’t understand why mccain would be against Castro’s socialist goverment?? mccain has been on the goverment payroll all his life, never has he worked in private industry??  Receiving a goverment check every month is synonmous with socialism????  If you look at the mccain family tree you will find that they were always on the goverment payroll????
