The American magazine “On Cuba” recently received authorization from the Cuban government to set up a bureau in Havana and prepares the output of another trade publication dedicated exclusively to the visual arts of the island, reported today its editors.

“On Cuba” is a monthly U.S. publication with a digital version, distributed on flights between Cuba and the United States and in 50 U.S. cities by distributors Barnes & Noble and Books and Books, said a press release issued in Havana.

The magazine is edited by Fire Media Group, part of Cuba Business Development Group, Inc (CBDG), a social and cultural information about the island Cuban-chaired by Hugo Cancio, U.S. resident.

Cancio said the magazine “takes more than a year of circulation and approval of an office in Havana consolidate the work of the Editorial and enable the development of new lines of work” as the note referred.

The publishing group “On Cuba” also moved to make available to the American public a new quarterly magazine in English, edited, directed and designed by leading specialists of Cuban visual arts.

He also considered that this new publication “On Cuba” expands its communications network for the promotion of Cuban culture in the United States.

“Our goal is to give promotion to Cuban contemporary art produced in Cuba or off island,” said the editorial director of “On Cuba” Tahimí Arboleya.
