Cuba launches Plaza Carlos III online shopping mall store

The website allows users anywhere in the world to make purchases for relatives or friends in Cuba, using MasterCard or Visa credit cards. Generally, purchases are delivered within the next 72 hours. The products available include electrical appliances, juices, drinks, canned food, cosmetics and computer accessories.

This option is part of the new offers of Plaza Carlos III, which will celebrate its tenth anniversary this year, and has 39 outlets in Havana.”

So, it seems as though Cuba has made a foray into ecommerce. What would Fidel think about all this?

The public whois information shows that the domain was registered on April 17, 2007 with the admin contact being Vladimir Graveran of Ontario Canada and the organization being 1706187 Ontario Ltd. O/A G4its.

It would appear that Mr. Graveran has a strong working relationship with the Plaza Carlos III retail operation in Cuba since this was a news article from an official Cuban website.
