Havana’s International Fair (FIHAV) is recognized as an ideal space for global business people, said organizing committee chair Abraham Maciques, and this is shown because FIHAV 2005, is predicted to be even bigger than the last.

Maciques asserted that in this 20th edition, to be held Oct 31-Nov 5, more than 40 countries are attending, and 10 will have official pavilions, among them Germany, Argentina, Brazil and Canada.

“This encounter is an example of the confidence business people have in Cuba,” he emphasized, pointing out the meeting was indispensable for developing a commercial culture in Cuba.

He said that in Expocuba, the exhibition site, the Cuban part covers 53,820 sq. ft. of the 150,695 total square feet available.

At the Central Pavilion 300 local companies will exhibit their products for export and the internal market in foreign currency.

China and Venezuela will present a considerable increase of entities, illustrating relationship strength, Maciques highlighted, while Spain, Japan, Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Portugal will be represented through Cuban institutions.
