Cuba’s Tourism Ministry launched a broad promotional campaign in China to boost the Caribbean Island’s attractions among potential Chinese vacationers.

For that purpose, a delegation headed by Cuban Tourism Minister Manuel Marrero traveled to China.

The Cuban official’s agenda included meetings with Chinese tourism leaders, as well as executives from institutions and companies linked to the leisure industry.

As part of the strategy to boost Chinese tourism, Marrero pointed out that Cuba will not charge Chinese airlines for many airport services.

He added that preferential prices would be offered to large groups of tourists, as a show of Cuba’s interest in Chinese vacationers having the chance to learn more about the Caribbean Island.

Another project to promote Cuba’s tourist attractions consists of organizing familiarization trips to Cuba, so that Chinese tour operators can get first-hand information about the tourist product they will sell.
