The Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Cuba S.A. (ETECSA) has inaugurated its Sercuba service in Havana, which will permit people in Italy and Spain – the European countries with the largest concentrations of resident Cubans – to send remittances to Cuba.

The new option’s advantages include competitive rates, rapid delivery, security and a presence in every province of the country, according to Vivian Iglesias, director of the company’s Internet Business Department (ENET).

ENET is the provider of technological infrastructure, while FINCIMEX is charged with the distribution of money transfers, according to information on the web site
