DTC News.- Good Prospects for Jardines del Rey in 2003

Havana.- Jardines del Rey, a tourist destination in eastern Ciego de Avila province, is expected to set a record in revenues for the leisure industry in 2003.

Local tourism officials pointed out that real possibilities exist to set a record of 100 million dollars in revenues this year.

In that regard, they said that so far, Jardines del Rey has earned 75 million dollars, and predicted an increase in tourist arrivals during the upcoming peak season.

Sources from Cayo Coco’s international airport confirmed the arrival of 25 flights a week during the peak season, adding that the number of flights may increase to 30 in February and March 2004.

The experts added that Jardines del Rey’s profits might exceed 20 million dollars, taking into account that the region has reported 16.5 million dollars in profits so far this year.
