Viet Nam and Cuba need more co-operative programmes in biotechnology, information technology and marine environmental protection, Prime Minister Phan Van Khai told a visiting Cuban delegation yesterday.

The Cuban delegation, led by acting Cuban Minister of Science, Technology and Environment Fernando Gonzalez Bermudez, arrived in Viet Nam yesterday and were welcomed by Khai who stressed the tradition of friendship between Viet Nam and Cuba.

Further co-operation in biotechnology, especially in the production of vaccines, should be enhanced, Khai reiterated.

In reply, Gonzalez Bermudez agreed to promote and strengthen co-operation in science, technology and environmental protection and expressed his hopes for future success. —
