Havana.- The largest Antillean Island launched a new Internet portal at http://www.cuba-shop.net to boost electronic commerce.

The initiative is sponsored by the company Tiendas Universo S.A. to sell products and services from the group Cubanacán S.A., including its branch Palmares.

Experts said that visitors to the web site can choose from virtual catalogs, whose products and services can meet the needs of the most demanding users.

Supported by the latest technology in electronic commerce and using a simple design, users can surf the portal and take a look at all the options available.

They can also buy products and pay on real time using credit cards, after submitting their personal information.

The experts added that due to its importance, regular clients would enjoy a special treatment in the future.
