Havana.- Cuba’s central Sancti Spiritus province has exported 2.894 tons of high-quality bee honey to several countries this year.

Officials from the Ministry of Agriculture pointed out that the province’s honey-processing plant is expected to treat 3,300 tons of honey this year.
The factory receives a steady supply of bee honey from various Cuban provinces, so the plan will be achieved on time.

According to experts, buyers have expressed particular interest in the so-called specific shipments, which contain one flavor of honey, depending on the variety of flowers from which the bees feed.

Prices in the international market, which range from 1,500 to 1,800 dollars a ton, depend on the color of honey, which goes from white to amber.
The experts said that this year’s production will be high, due to good blossoming and better techniques to handle beehives.
