Cuba will assemble 200 Chinese-made Yutong buses to improve the country’s transportation services.

The operations will begin during the second semester of the year at the Evelio Prieto company, in the Havana municipality of Guanajay.

This will be the first batch of Yutong buses that will be assemble in the country, as part of a project that reduces import costs and allows employing highly-skilled workers.

That option will contribute to developing the workers’ and technicians’ abilities to use new technologies, and will create the conditions to assemble the buses that will be used for urban transportation.

The Evelio Prieto company will also take care of maintenance works and repairs of the Yutong buses, many of which have been running on Cuba’s roads over the past two years.

The contracts also include joint actions to create the conditions necessary to store and maintain the spare parts and guarantee the good quality of the products.
