Cuba’s tourism trade grew by 13.6 percent in the first quarter of 2004, boosted by British tourists seeking Caribbean sun and beach.
British tourism grew 37 percent in the first quarter to 32,616 visitors - becoming the fastest growing European market for Cuba in March.
Tourism in Cuba is the largest hard currency earner. It generated $2.1 billion in earnings last year. Around 1.9 million tourists visited the island last year.
