The Chinese Group Haier of eastern Shandong province was stage for a preparation ceremony for the first lot of 300,000 high-performance refrigerators contracted by Cuba in this country.
These appliances, assembled in three different models, were purchased here as part of the Energy Saving Program the Caribbean island has implemented.
The act was attended by Cuban Government Minister Ricardo Cabrisas, Commander of the Revolution and Electronic Group Chairman Ramiro Valdez, the island’s ambassador to China Alberto Rodriguez Arufe, businesspeople and officials from the embassy in Beijing.
Representing Haier Group were Zhou Yun Jie, vice president of the larger company of electrical appliances in China and one of the most important groups of this sector in the world, as well as top executives, officials and workers.
After the ceremony, those appliances were loaded off to Cuba.
Hmm, now does this mean the Bush Administration will fine Haier for dealing with one of the countries in the “axis of evil”.
If OFAC can kick Cuban business people out of a hotel in Mexico, maybe they should try and tell China to stop selling goods to Cuba.
Yeah, good luck!

OFAC is coward if they can’t do nothing to stop big guys like Chinese foodline supply. They only dare to attack little guys.
That is a good business for the cuban people, definitely very better than to buy
a super-jet for Castro’travels,by the way,he is no longer a big traveller.
